Let me say first off, I love the G1 device, but seriously T-Mobile?

The G1 plan is $15 more per month, making it $180 more per year, for essentially the same thing. Edge speed network just about everywhere still. Just better apps. I was doing much better before I had a T-mobile branded phone. I was using the Sony Ericsson W610i and first used just the 5.99 T-Mobile web (See my old blog entry for details) and surfed everywhere I needed (Same Edge Speeds) just fine, of course they run it through a proxy and that was a drag for some stuff I was doing so I moved it to the “Total Internet” Which was only $19 a month SAME speed network just didn’t flow through the proxy and it INCLUDED T-Mobile Hotspots which I could use with my N800, also I had no issue teathering to my laptop, something T-Mobile is locking down on the G1 right now, WTH???. Now I pay MORE, including messages, it’s about $10 more a month to have what I had, and I loose T-Mobile Hotspots and teathering (T-Mobile approved) in this new equation. Really T-Mobile do you just enjoy ripping off your customers from every angle, it should be the other way around, I pay your ridiculous $35 a month data plan for a data device, I should be able to teather and use hotspots free considering the device support WiFi. Plus most of my data usage will be through the G1 anyways and if I teather it’s most likely on your pitifully slow Edge network anyways. Reward me for spending more money with you and being a super long customer, don’t stick it to me!
